There are four teams in contention for the state Quad-A baseball championship, and Indiana is one of them. This afternoon, Indiana takes on Fleetwood High, the third-place finisher in District 3, at Bellefonte High School in the state semifinals.
Indiana beat Bellefonte in the first round of the state tournament and knocked off District 3 champion East Pennsboro in the quarterfinals last Wednesday while Fleetwood has beaten two WPIAL teams in the first two rounds, North Catholic and Montour.
Indiana Coach Dan Petroff says Fleetwood is different than East Pennsboro and other teams they’ve faced, with a focus on “small ball”.
Petroff says a key for Indiana will be playing their type of baseball.
Indiana beat Bellefonte at Bellefonte in the first round, and Petroff says they are comfortable there.
The other Quad-A semifinal features District 1 champion Holy Ghost Prep against District 4 champ Danville.
