The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall of Florida-grown cucumbers that have affected several people across several states, including Pennsylvania.
Officials say at least 27 Pennsylvanians have been affected by a salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers grown by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc. Cucumbers grown by Fresh Start Produce have been distributed to several retail distribution centers, wholesalers and food service distributors in 14 states, most of them in the northeastern U.S.
The FDA did not specify where the contaminated cucumbers were sold in Pennsylvania, but they say all residents who may have purchased them were notified to return them to the store in which they purchased them.
