Fire departments in the northern part of Indiana County were busy on Thursday with multiple calls, including two vehicle accidents.
The first call of the day was for a structure fire at 11:49 AM on East Creek Road in East Mahoning Township. Marion Center, Plumville, Rossiter and Clymer Fire Departments were called out, along with the RIT team and Citizens Ambulance. Marion Center fire officials said a barn caught fire but it was knocked down by the homeowner and extinguished by firefighters. Plumville, Rossiter and Clymer firefighters were canceled.
At 4:12 PM, a vehicle accident was reported on Route 240 in Green Township. Commodore fire department, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance were dispatched. Details on the crash have not been released.
And at 10:04 last night, a vehicle accident was reported on Musser Road in Rayne Township. Marion Center Fire Department and State Police were dispatched. Fire officials say that one vehicle was involved in the crash near Dales Road, and no injuries were reported. One person fled the scene on foot and state police were searching for them.
