Groundbreaking baseball news was announced yesterday. All former Negro League players will have their statistics officially incorporated into MLB’s historical records.
The addition of these stats will officially make Josh Gibson one of the greatest players in baseball history. He spent his entire career in the Negro Leagues, playing as part of the Pittsburgh-based Homestead Grays from 1937 to 1946. He will be MLB’s all-time leader in batting average, slugging, OPS, and holds single-season records in those categories.
