A big night from Jase Bowen helped the Curve earn a 6-4 win over Portland last night at PNG Field. Bowen got Altoona on the board in the first with a single to right, then he added insurance with a two-run home run in the fourth.
Sean Sullivan earned the win on the mound. He didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning and finished with six strikeouts over five innings. Eddy Yean and Justin Meis provided four innings of one-run ball to lock the win.
Game two of the series is tonight. Manager Robby Hammock said Bubba Chandler will be activated from the injured list and will start for the Curve.
