Indiana County’s District Courts will hold preliminary hearings today, including one for a woman who was recently in Westmoreland County Court for her part in a car part theft ring.
Court documents show that 58-year-old Debbra Lynn McAdams will go before District Judge Susanne Steffee at 2:00 this afternoon. She is charged with two counts of retail theft-third or subsequent offense and one count of defiant trespass for an incident on March 20th of this year. Last week, she was ordered to serve seven years of probation for her part along with a few others in stealing catalytic converters off of cars in Indiana and Westmoreland Counties. Prosecutors had originally asked for her to be incarcarated but the Westmoreland County Judge granted lenieance in her case as she was taking care of three adopted children.
Also due for a preliminary hearing today is 24-year-old Rebecca Torres of Homer City. State police said they were summoned to her home along West Elm Street around 1:30 AM on May 15 after a verbal incident turned physical. Torres allegedly left scratches on 29-year-old Nicholas Dashnow’s face and arms, and pushed him into a window, which he went through. She was charged with simple assault, while Dashnow was charged with harassment after Torres reported being slapped during the incident.
