With Monday being Memorial Day, there will be several opportunities for people to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect our country.
In Indiana, ceremonies will be held at 10:45 AM on Monday at Memorial Park. They will be hosted by American Legion Post 141.
Blairsville’s annual Memorial Day parade will start at 10:30, going west on Market Street with the procession ending at the Veteran’s Memorial, where a solemn observance will be held. Former Pennsylvania VFW commander Larry Wade will give remarks.
Plumville will hold their annual parade at 11:00 starting near the Citizens’ Ambulance Station and head down Route 85 through the borough to the Plumville fire department. where a service will be held.
Marion Center Borough will hold their parade at 1:00 PM starting at the northeast end of town and go towards the Marion Center High School. A service will be held in the Marion Center cemetery. The Methodist Church in Marion Center will host an ice cream social from 11 AM to 3 PM on Monday.
In Canoe Township, a memorial day service will be held at 2:00 PM at Pine Church Cemetery in Locust.
