11:00 AM UPDATE: Power has been restored to Blairsville, according to Penelec maps. They still report outages in Canoe Township, but the number of customers affected is less than 20.
REA Energy has been working to restore power to many of its customers, and as of now, ten customers (one in Grant Township and the rest in Rayne Township) are still without power. Restoration is expected by noon today.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
Many Penelec customers in Blairsville are waking up without power this morning.
The utility company reports 107 homes are without power at this hour. The cause is pending investigation, and crews are expected to arrive soon. Outages are also seen in the Burrell Township area along with Armagh Borough. Power is expected to be restored by 9:30 AM, but that could change as crews start to investigate damage related to the outage.
Outages are also being reported this morning in other parts of the county. While Penelec reports outages in the Rossiter area of Canoe Township, REA energy is reporting outages in Cherryhill, Grant, Pine and Rayne Townships. A total of 38 cooperative members do not have power at this time, with power to be restored by 10:15 at the latest.
