Flags are already up outside the Oakland Cemetery for the Mid-day Rotary’s annual Flags for Heroes display.
The sixth annual event will officially open tonight, with special ceremonies at the flag field along Oakland Avenue. The event honors local heroes, according to Justin Mingle with Mid-Day Rotary.
This year, the ceremony will feature Peyton Balogh, whose life was saved by first responders in a firery crash that happened in October of 2020. Ceremonies will start at 6:00 PM and we’ll have the celebration streamed live on our Facebook page.
