The Pirates organization has released Altoona first baseman Aaron Shackelford. A 14th round draft choice by the Bucs in 2019, Shackelford hit 74 home runs since signing right after the draft, including 26 with the Curve two years ago.
He hit .223 with 14 home runs for Indianapolis last year but was demoted to Altoona at the start of this season, and was batting .216 with 4 home runs.
