In a non-jury trial earlier this week, an Oil City man was acquitted of all charges related to the sexual assault of a woman.
In April of 2023, Blairsville borough police had initially charged 27-year-old Zechariah Lemke with rape, sexual assault and other crimes that went back to an incident in February of that year after a woman alleged that he sexually assaulted her after the two met in Blairsville after talking on social media. Two days after the arrest warrant was issued, Lemke was arrested in a traffic stop on the PA Turnpike.
During the non-jury trial, Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco was presented with several pieces of evidence from social media and found Lemke not guilty of all six charges filed against him.
