The Pirates opened their seven-game road trip with a loss at Philadelphia last night. Joe Block reports.
In tonight’s second game of the series, Pirates lefty Bailey Falter [0-0, 5.40 ERA] gets the start. He’s coming off an outstanding 6-inning effort last Saturday against Baltimore in which he gave up no runs on one hit. He’ll face left-hander Christopher Sánchez [0-1, 4.82 ERA].
Airtime is 6:15 with first pitch at 6:40 on WCCS.
The Indianapolis Triple-A game and the Altoona Double-A game were both rained out last night, delaying the starts of two top prospects. Paul Skenes will likely pitch on Saturday after missing his start against Toledo last night. Quinn Priester will start for Indy tonight. For the Curve, Bubba Chandler will start tonight against Harrisburg. He was to start last night.
