The Penguins are in Toronto tonight, hoping to continue a late-season surge that saw them briefly take over the second Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference with Saturday’s win over the Lightning. Detroit beat Buffalo yesterday to retake the position, by a point over the Pens.
Coach Mike Sullivan says the Penguins can’t worry about what other teams are doing, no matter where they are in the standings.
Sullivan says the Pens are doing everything they can to rally around goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic, who is 6-0-2 in the last eight games in the Pens’ playoff push.
The Penguins will have three tough games this week, facing the Maple Leafs tonight, the Red Wings on Thursday, and the Bruins on Saturday. Tonight’s game faces off at 7 o’clock. The airtime is at 6 on 92.5 FM U92.
