Many of Indiana County’s first responders dealt with flooding first-hand yesterday.
Indiana County 911 reported 20 pumping details between 6:00 AM yesterday and 6:00 this morning. Those requests came from Homer City, Indiana, Marion Center, Cherry Tree and Blairsville Boroughs and Center, Burrell, Brush Valley, Pine, East Wheatfield, Rayne, Montgomery and Conemaugh Townships. Crews from Iselin/West Lebanon fire department were also called into Armstrong County on one of those details to help crews.
First responders were called out for other incidents throughout the day. A vehicle accident was reported at 1:07 PM on Route 22 and Resort Plaza Drive in Burrell Township, with Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments, Citizens Ambulance and state police responding. A water rescue was also reported on Chambersville Road in Washington Township. Creekside and Plumville fire departments, and the Indiana and Dayton Water Rescue Teams were dispatched at 1:37 PM.
Two other accidents were reported in Indiana. One was reported on Chestnut Street in Indiana Borough at 8:08 PM and the other on Oakland Avenue in White Township at 11:40 Pm. Indiana Fire Association, Citizens’ Ambulance and police were called out at both times.
