UPDATE AT 3:42 PM:
While the flash flood warning has expired, a Flood Warning remains in effect for our area until 8:00 PM tonight. A portion of Route 119 near Marion Center was flooded for a few hours, closing the road in both directions between Route 403 and Pollock Road. The water has receded, according to Marion Center Fire Officials who have been keeping an eye on the flooded area, but they feel it could flood again if another heavy rain comes through.
If the road is blocked or flooded, the National Weather Service advises you to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”, and do not go around any barricades.

Heavy rainfall is sweeping through western Pennsylvania, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for a local river.
The Conemaugh River in Seward, which extends to parts of Indiana and Westmoreland counties, is under this warning. Accuweather reports that a potent storm system from the Midwest is generating moderate to heavy rainfall, potentially leading to minor river flooding.
Motorists are advised to avoid flooded roads, as most flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles. It’s crucial not to bypass barricades or drive through flooded areas. Pedestrians walking near riverbanks should exercise caution.
Additionally, a general flood watch is in place for all of Indiana County until 8 o’clock tonight. Stay tuned to all four Renda Media radio stations and websites for updated Accuweather forecasts.
