At a meeting Tuesday night, the River Valley School Board approved applying for a state grant for construction.
Board president Rick Harper said that the state is distributing $100 million for building improvement projects. While Harper has an idea of where the money would go, he is pessimistic that the district will get any of the grant money as he feels it will go to poorer school districts.
Also, the board approved an updated memorandum of agreement with the River Valley Education Support Professionals Association. The major update is an increase in salaries for Title I instructional assistants. Their salary will go up $1.82 an hour.
