Indiana County’s District Attorney is offering comment on the sentencing of a man charged with sexually assaulting a child.
Yesterday, 24-year-old Tyler Stormer of Big Run was ordered to serve between 10 and 20 years in state prison and four years of re-entry supervision on his release for a plea of no contest to 15 offenses related to the rape of a child, including three counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault, two counts each of aggravated assault of a child and of someone under 13 and four counts of harassment. The investigation started after a report was made to the PA Childline in 2021. Charges were filed in August of 2023 after an extensive investigation by State Police.
District Attorney Robert Manzi said he was proud of the victim, who had the strength to come forward with the accusations and added that the victim is being aided and provided with services to help them process these events. Manzi also said it was his wish that Stormer spend the full 20 years in state prison.
