Students held the IHS mini-THON last night at 5th Street Gym, with students taking part in games like volleyball, spikeball and others, listening to guest speakers who have been affected by cancer, and a commemorative luminary walk to honor those who have battled cancer in all its forms. Much like THON at Penn State, participants are asked to stay on their feet for the entirety of the event, but with the mini-THON, students were on their feet for only six hours. The event was organized by students under the direction of Devon Duffy.
The fundraiser was able to generate $45,029.02, which will go to the Four Diamonds foundation, a non-profit gift fund to provide emotional and monetary support for families who have a child diagnosed with cancer.
