With the annual “IUPatty’s” unsanctioned event set to take place this weekend, members of the Indiana Area Collaborative Team, or I-ACT, met Monday afternoon at the KCAC to discuss preparations around the area.
Like many years, law enforcement agencies from the local and state levels will cooperate to bring an increased police presence to the IUP and Indiana areas from Thursday to Sunday. State police Public Information Officer Cliff Greenfield urges anyone who sees criminal activity to call 911.
I-ACT Co-Chair and County Commissioner Robin Gorman echoed that statement, saying quick awareness helps everyone, including first responders.
Gorman also commented on the longevity of I-ACT as the committee gears up for its 10th year. She said even when things were calm, members have shown great commitment to keeping the community safe.
The Indiana community will host several events throughout the remainder of the week and throughout the weekend, ranging from performances at local venues to the 2024 PA State Taxidermy Wildlife Art Competition & Outdoor Sportsman Show.
IUP will also hold alternative events. A link to them will be posted once it’s available.
