Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court last week upheld challenges to the nominating petitions of two candidates for U.S. Senate, removing them from the Primary ballot, and a third candidate has withdrawn, leaving only incumbent Democrat Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick on the ballot.
Casey enjoys a perceived nine percentage point advantage over McCormick, but 55 percent of respondents to a Franklin & Marshall poll say they need to hear more from McCormick before they can form an opinion of him.
The court removed Democrat William Parker and Republican Joseph Vodvarka from the ballot, and Republican Brandi Tomasetti withdrew after names on her nominating petition were challenged.
The state’s Primary election is April 23rd.
