According to WJAC in Johnstown, Jefferson County coroner Brenda Schumaker says one person is dead following a shooting at the Walmart in Punxsutawney.
Police are saying there is a heavy police presence at the Walmart and there is no threat to the public.
According to a social media post from the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company, the public is being asked to avoid the area.
The Punxsutawney Area School District also posted online that the school was in a temporary “perimeter hold,” meaning no one was allowed to leave or enter the building.
