The Pittsburgh Penguins made a trade just before the deadline passed Friday afternoon. Fifteen minutes before the deadline passed, the Pens traded goaltender Magnus Hellburg to the Florida Panthers in exchange for fellow goalie Ludovic Waeber and a 2025 conditional seventh-round draft pick. Waeber has made 15 appearances in the AHL this season and is 6-6 with a 3.09 goals-against average and an .887 save percentage.
The Pens also announced that defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the New York Rangers for a fourth-round draft pick in 2027. Ruhwedel scored one goal and notched three assists in 47 games this season.
The Pens are in action this afternoon as they travel up to Boston to take on the Bruins. Air time is 2:00 PM on U-92.5 FM and U92radio.com
