The Steelers have released veteran safety Keanu Neal with a designation of a failed physical. Neal played nine games, starting eight in his first season with the Steelers last year. His final play was a key interception that helped them preserve a win over Green Bay on November 12th. He suffered a rib injury on the tackle after that end zone pick and spent the rest of the season on injured reserve.
An interesting ex-Steeler note…guard Kevin Dotson spent most of his time in Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin’s doghouse, but he flourished in Los Angeles after his trade to the Rams. Dotson graded out as the second-best guard in football last season and was rewarded yesterday with a 3-year, $48 million contract extension, $32 million guaranteed.
