Jake Guentzel is still a Pittsburgh Penguin for the time being.
With the trade deadline at 3 PM tomorrow, the Penguins winger is the biggest chip on the table for team president Kyle Dubas, and he has plenty of suitors…hockey insider Frank Seravalli says the teams that are in on Guentzel are Carolina, Florida, the New York Rangers, Vancouver, and Vegas. But Seravalli says he doesn’t believe the Canucks or Panthers have enough to entice Dubas to make a swap.
Guentzel is a pending free agent.
Trades made yesterday included Vegas acquiring Flyers defenseman Noah Hanifin in a three-team trade. Calgary gets 2025 first round pick and conditional third round draft pick and defenseman Daniil Miromanov, and the Flyers get a conditional 5th round pick this year.

The Oilers get forwards Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick, unsigned goaltender Ty Taylor, and a draft pick in a tree-team trade with Anaheim and Tampa Bay. The Ducks get a first round draft pick and a conditional 2025 5th rounder and Tampa Bay gets a 4th round pick in 2026.
The Sabres traded forward Casey Mittelstadt to the Avalanche for defenseman Bowen Byram. The Avalanche also trade defenseman Sean Walker and a 5th round draft pick to the Flyers for forward Ryan Johansen and a conditional first round 2025 pick.
