State Senator Lindsay Williams is proposing legislation that would bar the state from allowing new cyber schools to open.
The Democrat from Allegheny says the state should put the brakes on new cyber schools until the legislature passes reforms to laws for them. Governor Josh Shapiro has called for lawmakers to pass legislation setting a single statewide tuition rate of eight-thousand-dollars at such schools.
Currently, tuition varies by district and in some cases tops 25-thousand-dollars per student.
