On a night when the Penguins celebrated the great Jaromir Jagr, they could’ve used his offensive brilliance against the LA Kings. Paul Steigerwald reports on another disappointing loss.(2-1)
Coach Mike Sullivan says the Penguins should have been able to do more against the road-weary Kings, who played an overtime game in Boston the night before.
Sullivan said the pregame ceremony for Jaromir Jagr’s jersey retirement was “an incredible event” and an inspiration.
Pens captain Sidney Crosby says the Kings took advantage of the opportunities the Penguins gave them.
Crosby says the Penguins weren’t aggressive enough.
Before the game, the Penguins activated forward Jansen Harkins from the injured list and inserted him into the lineup. Forwards Vinnie Hinostroza and Jonathan Gruden were sent back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The Penguins host the New York Islanders tomorrow night.
