The Pirates have signed veteran right-handed starting pitcher Chase Anderson to a minor league contract. He’s played ten seasons in MLB with six organizations, most recently the Colorado Rockies last season.
With the Tampa Bay Rays and the Rockies in 2023, Anderson was 1-6 with a 5.42 ERA in 19 appearances. Seventeen of his starts were with Colorado after he was claimed off waivers on May 12th. After missing more than a month with shoulder inflammation, he came back to 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA in his final five starts.
Lifetime, the 36-year-old Anderson is 59-56 with a 4.35 ERA in 200 career starts.
