WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
A Glen Campbell man will be sentenced today in Indiana County Court on a charge of third-degree murder in connection with the killing of his father on New Year’s Day in 2020.
29-year-old Matthew Bartlebaugh is due in court today before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco for the sentencing hearing. Last December, Bartlebaugh pleaded guilty to third degree murder and possession of a weapon in connection with the killing of 43-year-old Gerald Bartlebaugh while he slept with his girlfriend by his side. She was not hurt in the shooting. He also kept police at bay during an hours-long standoff at the family home before eventually surrendering.
Charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment originally filed against Bartlebaugh were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
