In the days before taking on the Florida Panthers, the Penguins talked about needing to play intense, solid hockey in order to make a playoff push. They did not get that last night. Paul Steigerwald has the story of a disappointing night. (5-2 loss)
Coach Mike Sullivan says that kind of effort just doesn’t cut it.
Sullivan says he is constantly looking for ways to snap the Penguins out of a season-long funk.
Jake Guentzel left the game at 8:02 of the third period with an undisclosed upper body injury. Sullivan said he’s being evaluated and had no word on how much time Guentzel could miss.
