A home in White Township was destroyed by a fire this morning.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Indiana Fire Association along with crews from Creekside, Clymer and Cherryhill Township at 2:16 AM for the fire along Route 286 East between Airport Road and the Jail Complex. Indiana Fire First Assistant Chief Ron Moreau said that the house was fully involved by the time crews arrived and it was far away from the road in a wooded area, but they were able to access a nearby hydrant.
The home and contents are a complete loss. The fire also destroyed a camper on the property and damaged a garage on site. Two people living in the camper are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Crews were on the scene for about three hours fighting the fire. No word yet on the cause of the fire, but state police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
