After a controversial 3-2 loss at Minnesota on Friday night, the Penguins dropped their second game in a row, 2-1 at Winnipeg on Saturday.
The Pens gave up both goals in the first period, when coach Mike Sullivan said they were “careless with the puck,” leading to a goal by Mark Scheifele off a Jake Guentzel turnover. The second goal was scored by Nino Niederreiter. The Penguins scored on a Bryan rust goal in the second period.
The Pens were 0-for-3 with only two shots on the power play.
Next up is a home game on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers.
