Portions of the Pennsylvania Courts Website have been restored after a denial of service cyber attack was made on the system earlier this week.
In a statement last evening from Pennsylvania Chief Justice Debra Todd, portions of the website including PACFile, web dockets and court summaries, and PA ePay have been restored. There is still no indication that any data has been compromised during the denial of service attack, which happens when the suspects flood the targeted server or host of a website and causes it to crash or to not respond, which prevents legitimate users from accessing the site.
No suspects have been announced in this case but the investigation is ongoing. The court’s information technology and executive teams continue to cooperate with the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and other investigators, and work continues to further assess and address website services that are still inaccessible at this time.
