Sunday turned out to be a busy day for first responders.
Three vehicle accidents were among the eight calls for service yesterday. The first crash reported was in Green Township on Route 286. Commodore fire department, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance were dispatched at 3:08 AM. At 8:47 AM, the second crash was reported. This one was on Sportsman Club Road in Armstrong Township, with Elderton Firefighters, state police and Citizens’ called out.
The third was at 6:30 PM on Shelly Drive in White Township. An eyewitness said the crash happened near the intersection with Philadelphia Street. Two vehicles were involved in the collision.

Indiana fire officials said that the drivers were checked out by medics, but no injuries were reported. Traffic was restricted for about an hour.
Details on the other crashes have not been released.
Indiana County 911 also reported two brush fires yesterday. One was at 1:37 PM on Route 156 in Armstrong Township and the other at 6:17 PM on Main Street in East Wheatfield Township. Indiana and Elderton fire departments were called out on the first call, while Armagh firefighters handled the second call.
