Parts of the Pennsylvania Courts Website are unavailable due to a cyberattack on the website.
Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, Debra Todd, said that the sites are down due to a denial of service attack made on the website. This is when malicious actors flood the targeted host or network with traffic until the site crashes or can no longer respond, which prevents access for legitimate users. At this time, there’s no word if any information was compromised in the attack, and the courts remain open to the public at this time. Todd added that their IT team is working closely with law enforcement, including the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI to investigate the incident.
The attack is affecting court web services including PACFile, the use of online docket sheets, PAePay, and the Guardianship Tracking System.
