As the Governor is set to unveil his budget plan next week to a joint session of the PA House and Senate, Josh Shapiro unveiled a new comprehensive plan called the Pennsylvania Economic Development Strategy.
The plan’s goal is to have Pennsylvania become competitive with neighboring states like Ohio and New York. The ten-year plan will focus on five goals: investing in economic growth to compete, continue to make government work at the speed of business, opening opportunities to all state residents, innovating to win and building vibrant and resilient regions.
In remarks made yesterday at a stop in Lehigh Valley, he mentioned funding for start-ups, investments in communities, and expansion in apprenticeship and internship opportunities.
The plan will be discussed today at a stop in Pittsburgh, and when he presents his budget in Harrisburg.
