GIRLS BASKETBALL
Aliana Fabin’s 31 points were not quite enough as Homer-Center fell to Cambria Heights in overtime, 60-54. The Highlanders outscored the Wildcats 17-11 in the extra period. Sienna Kirsch scored 17 and Kinley Rogal 16 for Cambria Heights. In addition to Fabin’s 31, Ashlyn Kerr had 12 for Homer-Center.
Marion Center outran Dubois, 48-23. Macie Miller scored 15 points with five rebounds and five steals. Lydia Miller had 10 points, 12 rebounds, and five steals.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Dom Speal’s 20th and final point last night was also the 1,000th of his career as River Valley knocked off Cambria Heights, 56-39. The Panthers held a 17-9 lead after one quarter and led by ten at the half. Jayden Whitfield had 12 for River Valley and Luke Woodring had 11.
Speal is the first player wearing the River Valley jersey to top 1,000 points for his career.
Portage dropped West Shamokin, 45-38. Bode Layo scored 13 points and Brennan Kunko 10 for the Mustangs. Braydn Rodgers had 11 for the Wolves and Aiden Oesterling had 10.
Colin Dinyar scored 26 points and Jon Updyke had 21 to lead Conemaugh Township over Purchase Line, 83-32. Stephen Peruso led PL with 8.
