A bridge in Blairsville has been blocked off due to flooding.
In an announcement from Blairsville Borough Police, Bairdstown Bridge that carries West Market Street over the Conemaugh River was closed yesterday due to the high water in the area. The bridge does remain closed at this time as the high water is still affecting travel in both directions.
Police say that signs have been posted on the Blairsville side of the bridge and signs have also been posted on Derry Lane in Derry Township warning people of the bridge’s closure. No word yet on when the bridge will reopen to traffic. Police also advise people to not drive around the posted signs as your car could get stuck in the flood waters.
