GIRLS BASKETBALL
A pressure-packed final week of the regular season will feature key games in the Heritage Conference on The Road to the KCAC, and two of the three teams battling for the semifinal slots in the girls western division met last night.
Penns Manor hosted Marion Center, and the Comets came from behind to win it. Todd Marino has the story.
River Valley went on a 16-0 run to start the game and flew by Purchase Line, 60-21. Ava Persichetti had 25 points and 10 assists, and Rylee Kitner scored 13. Jianna Hopkins had 12 points on four second-quarter threes for the Red Dragons.
The top two teams in the Heritage Conference East won. Portage blasted Conemaugh Township, 62-31. Jenna Burkett led the Mustangs with 16 points.
United easily handled Conemaugh Valley, 49-20. Ashley Donelson scored 14, Delaney Perone 12, and Maddie McGinnis 10 for the Lions.
Cambria Heights battered Northern Cambria, 66-36 as Sienna Kirsch scored 34 points and Gracey Vinglish added 19. Ella Miller had 15 for NC.
HOCKEY
A shocking loss for Indiana last night as North Catholic shut them out, 4-0 at the S&T Bank Arena. Indiana falls to 12-2-2 and is in second place in the Class A Gold Division with four games left in the regular season.
RIFLE
Indiana rifle lost to Plum, 783-41x to 773-31x. Top shooter for Indiana was Rylee Warfel with a 100-7x.
