The Penguins haven’t played since a Monday loss in Arizona, and after games tonight against Florida and tomorrow night against Montreal, they’ll have ten days off for the NHL All-Star break.
The Pens are 12th in the Eastern Conference, and they’ve fallen seven points off the pace for the second Wild Card. Coach Mike Sullivan says the Pens need every game after two losses on their western road trip.
Sullivan says the Penguins have one important game to play…their next one.
Team president Kyle Dubas pulled off a trade of minor league defensemen yesterday, sending Will Butcher to the Minnesota Wild and getting 23-year-old Maxim Cajkovic in return. Cajkovic has never played at the NHL level. Butcher has played 275 games over five seasons in the NHL.
Tonight’s game airs at 6 o’clock on 92.5 FM U92, with faceoff shortly after 7.
