PITT FOOTBALL WILL HAVE SEVEN HOME GAMES IN ’24

The ACC announced its full 2024 football schedule yesterday, including new members Cal, Stanford and SMU (which aren’t exactly on the Atlantic Coast).

Pitt will open at home against Kent State on August 31^st, then play the following Saturday at Cincinnati in an ACC-Big 12 clash.  On September 14^th, it’s the 107th renewal of the Backyard Brawl with West Virginia, at Acrisure Stadium, and the Panthers will host Youngstown State on the 21^st.

After an off week, they travel to North Carolina for their ACC opener on October 5^th.  They’ll play Cal for the first time since 1966 at home on October 12^th, then play a Thursday night game on the 24^th at home against Syracuse.

A trip to Dallas to play SMU opens the November schedule, on the 2^nd, then they’ll host Virginia on the 9^th, and Clemson on the 16^th. Pitt will visit Louisville November 23^rd and close the regular season at Boston College on the 30^th.

Without divisions, the top two teams in the ACC standings will play in the conference championship game in Charlotte on December 7th.
