Jeff Capel says his Pitt Panthers better be ready to play tonight or they’ll get their butts kicked against Georgia Tech. Pitt upset Duke on Saturday and the celebration at the end of the game in Cameron indoor Stadium got a bit crazy, enraging both Duke players and fans.
Capel says his guys had better settle down and get set for a Yellow Jackets team that is 9-9 and 2-5 in the ACC. Speaking after the Duke game, Capel said Pitt has to have their heads in the game tonight in Atlanta.
Capel said he had a private conversation with Blake Hinson, who stood on the scorer’s table at Duke yelling at the fans as Duke’s players waited in the handshake line. Pitt is 11-7 and 2-5 in the ACC.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 o’clock tonight.
The pregame begins on WCCS at 6:30. Pitt freshman Jaland Lowe is the ACC Rookie of the Week after he averaged 18.5 points and 4.5 assists in last week’s games against Syracuse and Duke.
