DETAILS PROVIDED BY HOMER-CENTER SWIM:
The Lady Wildcat swimmers lost 99 to 71 and the boys lost 101 to 57. The girls won eight of the eleven events but lacked the depth required to claim victory. First-place finishes were earned by senior Grace Frazer in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; Morgan Nagy in the 200 and 500 freestyle; Vanessa Uher in the 100 freestyle; and Ava King in the 100 backstroke. Together, these four girls won the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay as well. The boys had first-place finishes in four events. Brady Frazer was a double winner in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Trevor Cameron won the 100 backstroke and Landon Shoup won the 500 freestyle. Despite the loss, the team had a very successful meet. Swimmers continue to improve and combined for over 100 seconds of total time drops during the meet. Ciara Richards and Danielle Uher were our time drop leaders. Both girls dropped time in the 500 freestyle. Ciara dropped an astounding 51.52 seconds and Dani dropped 16.31 seconds. We also had three swimmers complete new events. Alaina Bell finished her first 200 IM, Dan Jones did his first 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, and Oshen Maratita did his first 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Wildcat swimmers return to action against Cambria Heights this Wednesday, January 24 back at IUP’s Pidgeon Natatorium.
