Negotiations continued over the last two days between the State System of Higher Education and the union representing it’s coaches.
In a news release from APSCUF, the two sides met on Thursday and Friday and discussed several topics including salary, leaves of absence, fundraising, consolidated universities, evaluations and job security. The last two topics have been topics that the union has voiced concerns with publicly as APSCUF has said they have wanted to see in future contracts language that prohibits “arbitrary, capricious, or discriminatory decisions about coach employment.”
While a new contact was not reached, negotiations are scheduled to continue on January 31st. The coaches are working under the terms of a four-year contract that expired on June 30th.
Meanwhile, talks are still on pause between PASSHE and APSCUF on the Teachers’ contract. The last negotiation session for the faculty was on December 20th.
