HS BOYS BASKETBALL
In a game heard on U-92.5 FM, United beat Penns Manor. Todd Marino was there.
River Valley beat Portage 77-52. Dom Speal led the panthers with 25 points. Jayden Whitfield and Luke Woodring scored 18 & 15 points respectively to lead the Panthers to victory. Portage was led by the trio of Trae Kargo, Body Layo, and Owen Gouse, with all three scoring 12 points each.
Cambria Heights beat Homer Center 56-51 in Overtime. Angelo Alexander lead the Wildcats with 13 points, while Noah Budner had 12. Stephen Nelson of Cambria Heighs lead all scorers with 20 points, including 7 in overtime
Conemaugh Township beat Marion Center 72-48. John Updyke had 25 points for Conemaugh Township, including 12 of the 19 points CT scored in the second quarter. Cameron Pack led Marion Center with 19 points.
Norther Cambria 69 Purchase Line 25. – Northern Cambria’s offense outscored Purchase Line 28-13 at the end of the first quarter. Nate Fry (18), Ty Dumm (13) and Caleb Dolney (11) were in figures for the Colts, with Fry scoring four three pointers on the night. Jakob Mountain scored 10 for Purchase Line.
Highlands toppled Indiana 74-62. Aaron Webb of Indiana had a game high 23 points and Stanford Webb had 13 points. Braydon Foster of Highlands had 23 points.
North Star beat Ligonier Valley 66-36.
GIRLS BBALL
Purchase Line 66 Harmony 31 – Anna Layden led all scorers with 20 points while Jianna Hopkins had 15 points, 12 of which were from beyond the arc. Jayden Fry led Harmony with 15 points.
High School Rifle
The IHS rifle team lost to Butler by a score of 777-39x to Butler’s 799-61x. Top shooters for Indiana were Gavin Dicken with a 100-8x and Rylee Warfel with a 100-6x. Their record is 3-5 overall, 1-3 in the section. Their next competition will be at Hempfield on January 16.
