BOYS BASKETBALL
Homer-Center gave it a run but came up short last night against Portage. Todd Marino reports.
In other Heritage Conference boys action last night, United handled Purchase Line, 90-57. Carter Payne led the Lions with 23, Connor Darr had 19, Isaac Worthington 16, and Dmitri Worthington 10. Jakob Mountain had 18 and Jacob Kaufman 15 for the Red Dragons.
Penns Manor nipped Cambria Heights, 54-53 with a big fourth quarter. The Comets outscored the Highlanders 23-12 in the final eight minutes. Carter Smith led the way with 20 points and Alex Polenik had 13.
Conemaugh Township topped West Shamokin, 66-48. Jon Updyke had 17 for the Indians and Colin Dinyar 16. The Wolves were led by Braydn Rodgers with 14 and Alex Talmadge had 13.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Marion Center ripped Northern Cambria, 66-22. Alivia Ruddock led the Stingers with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lydia Miller had 12 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 steals. Macie Miller, Natalie Black, and Mollie Shadle all had 10 points.
WRESTLING
Indiana routed Greensburg Salem 57-18. Winners for Indiana were Hunter Williams, Rowan Grantz, Nico Fanella, Carter Putt, Tuscan Blystone, Jacob Snyder, Will Turner, Dominic Fanella, Jackson Higgins, and Cash Allshouse.
Indiana is now 5-2, 3-1 in the Section.
