The Penguins face off with Vancouver tonight at PPG Paints Arena, and it won’t be easy for Mike Sullivan’s crew. His former top assistant, ex-Penguin Rick Tocchet, has the Canucks atop the Pacific Division and in second place overall in the NHL with 57 points, just one behind Winnipeg.
Sullivan says it’s no accident that Tocchet has the Canucks playing so well in his second year in Vancouver. He says Tocchet is a quality coach and a humble man.
The Penguins have won 9 of their last 12 games, and Sullivan says it’s because they are playing smart hockey.
Sullivan says the Penguins know when to take chances and when not to.
The puck drops tonight shortly after 7 PM. We’re on the air on 92.5 FM U92 at 6.
