The 7-foot Filipowski scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds, prompting coach Jeff Capel to says, “We haven’t played anyone like him.”
Duke outrebounded Pitt, 42-26.
Capel said the Blue Devils were the better team.
Zach Austin scored 11 points to lead Pitt and Bub Carrington had 10. The Panthers are off until next Tuesday, when they host Syracuse, which beat Pitt December 30th, 81-73.
