The Pitt Panthers finally got their first win in ACC play this season, knocking off Louisville, 83-70, yesterday afternoon.
Blake Hinson scored 21 points and Zack Austin added 20, while freshman sensation Bub Carrington scored 16 points with six rebounds and four assists. Pitt, which has struggled all season with foul shooting, made their first 18 free throws and finished 19-of-21 from the line. The Panthers’ defense was also impressive, making 8 steals and forcing 18 turnovers in all by the Cardinals.
Next up for Pitt (10-5, 1-3 in the ACC) is a Tuesday night matchup against 14th-ranked Duke at the Petersen Events Center.
