After last meeting in November, negotiators working on a new contract for coaches in the State System of Higher Education are scheduled to sit down for talks again this week. They will hold sessions on Thursday and Friday.
The last round of talks did not go well. APSCUF described them as brief and tense, as they focused on the union’s concerns about job security, which remain unresolved. Coach Executive Leader John Gump specifically mentioned the need for language to prevent “arbitrary separations”.
Contract talks for faculty members were last held December 20th. At this point, there is no scheduled resumption for those negotiations.
Both faculty and coaches continue to work under terms of a four-year contract that expired June 30th of last year.
