There was plenty of offensive firepower right from the opening faceoff last night in Boston. In the end, the captain saved the day again for the Penguins. Here’s Paul Steigerwald.
In addition to O’Connor and Crosby, Penguins goals were scored by defenseman Ryan Graves, Jake Guentzel, Lars Eller, and Jeff Carter. Crosby and Kris Letang each had three-point nights and Nedeljkovic stopped 24 of 29 Boston shots.

Penguins forward Matt Nieto has had laparoscopic knee surgery and will be out of the lineup for six to eight weeks. Nieto has missed the last fourteen games, last taking the ice for the Pens on November 30th.
For the tenth time in his career, Sidney Crosby has been selected to play in the NHL All-Star game, which is actually a three-team mini-tournament. All-Star festivities will be in Toronto on February 2nd and 3rd.
